How to lose belly fat

In almost all the scenarios, having excess belly fat is also a consequence of being overweight. The condition of being overweight can be termed as having excess fat accumulation in the body which in turn drives the BMI or body mass index to become higher than is recommended by nutritionists and experts. BMI is calculated by dividing height and weight and then squaring the result. A BMI of 29-25 is considered overweight and should trigger one to begin to take measures to cut the excess fat.

Being overweight can have serious consequences on one’s health. There are upwards of 300,000 deaths each year resulting from health conditions that come from being overweight. Hazards include sleep disorders, low self-esteem, risks of heart failure and strokes not to mention chronic fatigue which is as a result of the heart struggling to pump blood and oxygen to a larger body mass.

There are steps one can take to tackle the problem of belly fat. One is to eat right. Before one can eat right, one has to become educated as to what proper diet means. Thanks to the food pyramid website run by the USFDA, there is a wealth of information online as to how to structure your diet to meet the challenges of losing weight.

Exercise is also something else you can adapt in order to lose belly fat. Many people are deterred from this by the costs of enrolling in a gym membership but this need not be a deterrent. One can begin an exercise regiment right in the comfort of their home. A 30 minute workout can involve several push-ups and sit-ups punctuated by a few minutes of rest. Running and jogging especially around one’s compound before going to work can go a long way in cutting belly fat.

Tips on losing weight

Being overweight has its inherent dangers and can even result in death. Ask the 300,000 to 400,000 people who die each year in the United States due to weight-related complications across the board. Weight gain, which is also known as obesity, is defined as having a BMI or body mass index of 25-59. Body mass index is calculated by dividing weight with height and then squaring the answer. Many people have realized the dangers of having a BMI that is above the recommended figure. Overweight people suffer from low self-esteem, lack of sleep or sleeping disorders, chronic fatigue and even a higher risk of heart attacks and strokes. Obesity also depresses the body’s immune system thereby making it susceptible to a malady of ailments from the common cold to the full blown flu.

There are however, ways to beat weight gain. One of them is to educate you regarding nutrition. It is surprising to note just how many people cook food or eat food without the slightest regard to what is contained in those foods or how many calories are therein. This is common. But it can change. Whenever you buy food at the grocery store, read the label and see what ingredients and locked up in the food and how many calories are there. Why it is important to lose belly fat

Having excess body fat can be fatal especially when statistics are showing that almost 400,000 people lose their lives each year in the United States due to complications arising from obesity. People become obese in a number of ways. Some it’s because of lack of self-control especially where their appetite is involved. They obey their cravings and become ruled by them and do not watch their daily intake especially when this intake is higher than the daily recommended average. Others simply lead a life that is devoid of exercise. This is where they drive even for short distances and their bodies do not generate enough metabolic heat to burn the fat. Then there are those whose weight fluctuate depending on whether they are depressed or happy and even more add weight due to certain medications. Regardless of which way one accumulates fat in their body especially the belly, it is important to understand that this condition can shorten one’s life and also reduce the quality of that same life. Here are some reasons why it is important to lose belly fat.

Belly fat can cause high-blood pressure. This is because the heart has to work extra harder to make sure that the entire body gets its share its nutrients. This can also overwork the heart raising the risk of heart. All this is related to being overweight and the problems can lead to other problems in themselves. For instance, the fact that the heart has to work twice as hard to make sure there is blood in the entire body means that there is also a risk of chronic fatigue. This is where the overweight person feels tired all the time and this also caused them to want to either lie down or take a rest which in itself causes more fat accumulation because of inactivity.

Causes of obesity

New information from weight loss researchers and nutritionists shows that over 300,000 people die each year from complications resulting from obesity. Obesity is a major problem in the United States and now many other parts of the world. This is where the body accumulates more fat than is being burned by normal metabolism and this causes fat deposits to begin to build up in the belly area, thighs, buttocks and even waist. The problem of obesity is so acute that some schools especially in Atlanta Georgia have began to offer strictly vegetarian diets to their students and the students have embraced this diet well. So what causes obesity?

There is one cause of weight gain that is rather unfortunate-genetics. Sometimes, it is easy to judge people from appearance and form an opinion that their excess weight is as a result of irresponsible eating habits. But doctors report that there are people with genetic maladjustments that cause a problem with the way the body processes food. There are also problems that cause an under-performing thyroid gland that ultimately causes the body metabolism to slow and therefore and accumulation of fat. So one reason why some people are overweight is because of genetic issues.

Another reason why some people might have a weight problem is because they have an eating disorder. In the same token that there are eating disorders which cause bulimia, there are disorders that run in the opposite direction and cause compulsive eating and an abnormal appetitive. A disorder called Pica even has its victims craving non-foods (earth, pens, pencils and anything close by). These disorders which cause excessive eating can be treated and the person can resume normal eating habits.

Another reason for obesity is off course leading a sedentary life of little or no activity. This is common in the West where people use cars to go even short distances.

Why exercise is the best tool for great abs

Hardly a minute passes after we turn on the TV that we see a commercial portraying a scantily-dressed female with a great body and a man with great abs and “six-packs”. This image of perfect body structures is pushed to us by the media day-in day-out and has become what the mind accepts as the reasonable body tone and appearance. This has resulted in a spike in gym enrollment as more and more people try to achieve that look.

Obesity is the condition where the body accumulates so much fat that it is deemed unhealthy. This is reflected by the hundreds of thousands of deaths that take place each year due to obesity. Obesity can cause artery blockage and hence heart failure and stroke. It can also cause sleep disorders, breathing problems kidney failure, a depressed immune system, high-blood pressure and even a low self-esteem as the media portrays the obese person as generally unattractive.

While dieting is a great way to lose weight, it must be coupled with a good exercise regimen. This is because fat accumulation is really about the body not generating enough metabolic heat to burn the fat. Exercise forces the body to burn the fat accumulated in the belly and turn it into energy.

Exercise need not be hard. As a matter of fact, it is not really the type of exercise that matters, it is whether there is consistency and due diligence. Combining the two can be a very effective way of ensuring that the body’s metabolic rate increases and all fat deposits especially those in the belly are burned to give way to great-looking abs.

The best exercises for stomach abs are running and conducting routine sit-ups. Push-ups are also great but one must not overdo them.

Ways that people accumulate belly fat

One of biggest health hazards of the 21st century is obesity which in the United States afflicts over 30% of the general population. Obesity is described by medical experts as a condition in which the body accumulates excess fat to the extent that one’s health is at risk. The risks are real given that over a quarter of a million people die each year due to complications arising from being overweight.

Weight is measured in what is called BMI or body mass index which is calculated by dividing the weight and the height and then squaring the results. This method of calculating weight was devised by an individual from Belgium in the 1840s. There are different ways people accumulate belly fat.

One way is leading a slow and inactive lifestyle. While it is true that today’s life is fast in many ways, there are also people who have chosen in one way or another to ignore exercise. Some have not totally ignored exercise as a matter of choice, but have become consumed with working that they do not have time to work out. Coupled with this is the culture of junk food where we do not want to cook but prefer the convenience offered by driving through somewhere and simply ordering takeaway.

Another reason why people end up being obese is because of genetics. While it is true that there are those who chose to indulge willingly in high-calorie foods, there are those whose bodies have a genetic malfunction which causes the body to become very slow in its metabolic rate thereby accumulating more fat faster. This can be as a result of an overactive thyroid gland coupled with today’s social habits such as eating out and driving everywhere even for short distances. All these factors greatly contribute to obesity.
