My Experience with Approved Foods

My Review of Approved Food Shopping

When I do the shopping for the week what I don’t want to do is buy ready meals. Yes they are convenient for quick snacks, but for long term I prefer real food on the table.

I surprise myself sometimes because I think it will take too long but in all reality it doesn’t. When we cook in our house we use utilities to help us be a bit more healthy.

My oven is actually a desk top Halogen Oven and this has served me well since finding out about them.  All my meats, pizza, anything else I can throw in there goes into it. Lots of the time it’s the meat. This is because it’s on a raised stand and the fat from the meat gets to drip out of it as it cooks.

I am surprised a lot of the time about the amount of fat in some products I buy. Using the Halogen Oven really has saved my waist line and I am sure my families along the way.

My other great buy is the Air Fryer. This cooks without the use of oil. You can put in a small drop, which is usually more than enough, or even drop in some Lurpack for taste. Myself I don’t use any oils.

The kids love French Fries, so to pour in half a bag of them and turn the machine on to 18 minutes, they come out PERFECT. I love to cut up my potatoes and get my bacon diced cuts and put them in for 60 minutes. The potatoes come out nice and crispy with a bacon flavor taste. I even do my Chicken Nuggets and all that in the Air Fryer.

Thank God for the Shopping Channel. So as you can see I love to cook. Shopping locally is great, shopping online is great, but your still not getting a good deal when it comes to Food, you do get the bargains I admit.

Our Shopping Bill was around £150 Per Week. I personally think that is way too much. Considering how much wastage there is, how much fussy eating there is.

The task was to find Great Food and at Great Prices. So let me share with you TWO Websites that I use. Let me also state that if you join these websites and you purchase I earn money off my next order, or special deals on food selections. Neither of these affect your buying rights or pleasure.

Approved Foods

Website : Approved Foods

The kids come round to the house, they bring their friends round to the house, they want to play out the back. Everyone wants snack, a biscuit, some ice pops, a drink and the list goes on and on. You can imagine the carnage with all of this. I have 5 kids so it can get a bit hectic at times. I’m NOT complaining it’s actually rather nice for them.

What’s also nice is when the kids do ask for something we are not rushing out to the shops to buy it so we can provide. Because we have two diabetics in the house, my kids are rather responsible when it comes to food. They understand the carb content and the dangers of eating too much of a good thing. That doesn’t stop them wanting.

So we had to replace our “Goodies” that we were buying from the shop. You never just spend the £10 you have it always ends up being £20 – £30 at a time. Not very economical for me.

This is where Approved Foods comes into play. Cereal, since we are a big family we get through a lot of it. We all have our own wants and tastes and the site provides MORE than what is needed.

We have been an Approved Foods Shopper since: January 2013 and we have completed 50 orders.  We have also saved over £4500 in shopping. We have also used our link which everyone gets and shared it with friends and family and gained ourselves quite a few FREE Shopping in return.

Approved Foods have got better since we joined them. Their range is so much bigger now. Cleaning Products, Pet Products, even Alcohol for those that like a tipple.

DELIVERY

I hear people moaning all the time, I can get delivery cheaper blah blah blah.  The amount of money that you save on the Products that you buy compensates for the Delivery.

You don’t need to go out in the car, find parking, do your shopping, load up the car, drive back home and then unpack it all. Also I live on the ISLE OF WIGHT.  So it’s not like I have tons of places to shop around. When you consider what you can order, some of them boxes are really heavy. I find though that their delivery time and prices are reasonable for what we buy. Its not like a normal shop. 1 tin of beans, 1 packet of biscuits, that mentality I would understand the delivery then costing too much. When you are buying in Bulk to last a month then it makes more sense.

British Forces Post Office (BFPO)

Please ensure all correct details are used on the shipping address at checkout, including the unit and sub unit. Also check for prohibited items as your order can be turned away.

Once an order has been delivered to a BFPO site the order is classed as delivered and any further queries regarding delivery will have to be raised via BFPO customer service channels.

Standard rates per box (up to 25kg)

Collection from Sheffield, S9 Free
England, Wales and parts of Scotland £5.99
Scotland £10.50

So as you can see the Delivery is not as bad as some would make you think. Myself and my wife share the site because in the UK many families are struggling and not meeting the basics. I do Approved Shopping because then it means I’m spending less locally in the shops to feed my family but I am also not depriving them of basic standard of living.

The comments I have had from some people are STUPID at times, and Inspiring at others. Admitting though the Stupid ones are few and far between.

One person posted a comment that it was a scam and if we used the link the Poster (My Wife) would earn money from it. That really shows the “Employee Mindset” at it’s best. You actually do not earn any money. You do however earn money against your SHOPPING that you can redeem. On average for every £100 in shopping we spend on Approved Foods it costs us up to £50, not including delivery. We have gone on there and spent £200 one time. That was MAD, the amount of boxes that turned up kept the kids in play houses for months.

It was just before the summer a few years back we did it, we wanted to be able to do things around the house with the kids. We bought in cake mixes, biscuit making, flour, they also did at the time the big pots of powder sauces and soups you get for the Restaurants, we got in the cordials so the kids could make their drinks, ice pops with the weather getting warm and we got in lots of tin goods and pastas as well. But on average a monthly shop for us is about £100 or so.

Sharing Approved Foods with others is also a Feel Good Factor. You are really helping people right at the basic level, Food on the Table. This country and many others don’t care about us or our families. Sharing this for me brings back a bit of dignity to family life. No one likes to say no to their kids, no one likes to say “Sorry I can’t afford it”. By using  Approved Foods not only can you afford to get the food in, but it free’s up your money so you can pay the other bills, put some extra gas on the meter or some electric on when you want to stay up late, pay the phone bill or stick in some petrol so you can go out for the day as a treat, that RUMP Steak you have been eyeing up in the local shop.

A Basic Standard in Living. That’s all that is wanted by many people, and they are denied it because they don’t know how to afford it.

I recommend and approve Approved Food. I love it and share it with everyone who checks it out.
